Mission Statement

The Florida May Day Federation is a non-profit, collectively run, non-hierarchical organization which exists to organize events celebrating May Day, the International Workers' Holiday, and to organize educational, political, and cultural events related to the history and struggles of working people for better lives and emancipation from the wage system. The Federation believes in the dictum that "if there are Governments armed with economic power as they are now with political power; if, in a word, we are to have Industrial Tyrannies, then the last state of man will be worse than the first."
